Character Creation

Play will begin in the cosmopolitan island city of Freeport. Different peoples mix relatively freely, as commerce dissolves most barriers. Freeport is intended to be a relatively normal starting point, from which players can ease themselves into the strangeness of Urth.

The genotypes and careers are as described in Barbarians of the Aftermath (BotA), except for a few exceptions. A player may substitute other boons and flaws, with GM approval, from either Barbarians of Lemuria (BoL) or Barbarians of the Aftermath (BotA).   • In addition to their medical skills, barbers are skilled at cutting hair and shaving. Physicians or doctors are treated as sages, and have no practical skill in treating illness or injury. This does not stop the rich and powerful from preferring them to common barbers.
